Education: She graduated from the Nursing Department of TEI of Thessaly and the Nursing Department of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA) and holds a  Μaster of Science in Community Nursing of EKPA. She received her PhD degree in Trancultural Nursing from the Nursing department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Research interests: Community Nursing, Transcultural Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Cultural competence, Compassion

Academic appointments: In 2017 she became a Lecturer at the Nursing Department of TEI of Athens (1996-2007) and since 2018 she is a Lecturer at the Nursing Department of the University of West Attica.

Professional experience: She has worked as a registered nurse in private and public hospitals as well as a Vocational Training School Teacher.

Courses Taught: She currently teaches Transcultural Nursing (co-coordination) (both in under and postgraduate level) and Community Nursing II (co-coordination) at the University of West Attica. She also teaches Transcultural Nursing as a Visitor Lecturer in undergraduate level at the EKPA and Transcultural Health in  postgraduate level  at the EKPA and the University of Thessaly.

Other information: She has a rich experience in author’s and researcher’s field. She has 39 publications and has disseminated widely through national and international conferences (51 oral and poster presentations). Also she is a co-author in books about Transcultural Nursing. Her research work has been recognized by the international scientific community (155 citations). She has participated as a researcher in the «AKESO-Ι, Development of an Integrated Post-Hospital Patient Health Care System, coming from Vulnerable Social Groups. Networking of Nursing Services for PHC and Nursing Volunteers of the Hellenic Red Cross with General Hospitals in Athens, Ioannina and Thessaloniki» program and the Erasmus+ program “IENE 8” and at this period she is a researcher at the Erasmus+ program “IENE 11”.  She is representative (2nd) of the country (Greece) in the European Transcultural Nursing Association (ETNA) and has been Substitute Member of the National Development  Committee of Nursing (2012-2016).
