Research interests: His research interests are focused in Children’s Nursing, children with all chronic diseases, children with special needs, counseling and mental health of adolescent children, adults and their families, hereditary disease management and mental health,  administration – health care management, emergency management plans, neonatal nursing, children’s hospital cost analysis and management, infection control, hygiene environment, hygiene and safety, mental health nursing, quality of life and education of children and families on chronic illness, paediatric surgical nursing, perioperative nursing, child, adolescent children, adults and their families, communication and intercultural nursing and family, contribution in Nursing education policy and public health issues.

Academic appointments: Assistant Professor in Paediatrics Nursing, Faculty of Nursing University of West Attica of Athens from 2018 until today. Lecturer and Professor of Applications from 2010 to 2018. Clinical nurse instructor TEI of Lamia in academic year 1990-1991 and academic year 1997-1998. Laboratory collaborator in Paediatrics Nursing, Faculty of Nursing I, TEI of Athens from 1998 to 2010. Educator on Specialization in Paediatrics Nursing from 1996 to 2010.

Professional experience: From 1990 to 2010, he served as Clinical Paediatric Nurse at the Paediatrics Department, the Surgery Department and the Operation Theatre of the Athens’ General Children’s Hospital «Hee Hagia Sophia». He also served as Educational Training Nurse and as a Trainer in Paediatric Nursing Specialization in the Athens’ General Children’s Hospital “Hee Hagia Sophia”. He was further trained in Children’s Hospital Karolinska, Stockholm, Sweden and in the European Program of the EU (HOPE). He was a member of the General Children’s Hospital “Hee Hagia Sophia” Committee for Cost Analysis. He was also one of the three members of the National Hospital Network Committee for Health Promotion. He was a Coordinator of the EU health worker exchange programmes (HOPE). He also served as a member of the Emergency Needs Management Plan.

Courses Taught: He has teaching experience in the Undergraduate program/courses of the current Nursing Department of University of West Attica of Athens since 2010, as well as teaching experience in postgraduate programs/courses of MSc National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and MSc of Nursing Department of University of West Attica.

Undergraduate courses: His teaching areas include Pediatric Nursing (Laboratory & Clinical Practice), Nursing Research Methodology, Teaching Methods in Nursing, Liaison mental health nursing, Mental health nursing, Bioethics-Nursing ethics and law, Nursing leadership and administration.
