The aim of the course is for students to understand the meaning of the disease, the causes, the clinical picture and the course of the diseases and to participate in their treatment. The aim is for students to know and distinguish the most important elements of each disease at the prognostic, diagnostic and therapeutic level and to contribute appropriately to the provided health care.

- Introductory concepts of health – disease – prevention. Methodology of patient approach. History – Clinical examination – Diagnosis. Our immune system. Introductory concepts of immunity. General causes of illness. Concept of Infectious Disease. Bacterial and virus infections. Prevention – Vaccines. Concept of Hospital Infection – Microbial Resistance. Concept of opportunistic infection. Streptococcal – Staphylococcal infections. Infectious mononucleosis.
