Education: She graduated from the Nursing Department B of TEI of Athens and completed a Μaster of Science in Nursing course in the College of Medicine; University of Wales. She received her PhD degree in Gerontological Nursing from the Nursing department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Research interests: Stigma in dementia; Burnout of professional and family carers; Ways of knowing in Nursing; Care of the elderly in nursing homes; Age and Dementia friendly communities; Active and Healthy Aging; Non-pharmacological interventions; Phenomenology. Academic appointments: She was a Laboratory Associate of the Nursing Department of TEI of Athens (1996-2007) and a Lecturer of the same department (2010-2018). In 2018 she became a Lecturer of the University of West Attica and in 2019 an Assistant Professor. She is an Associate Professor since 2024. Professional experience:She has worked as a registered nurse in hospitals as well as community and long care services in the United Kingdom and in the Neurological-Neurosurgical Department of the NIMTS Army Veterans’ hospital in Athens.

Courses Taught: She currently teaches Gerontological Nursing (Theory and laboratory) (academic coordination) and Occupational Health Nursing (academic co-coordination) (both in pre and postgraduate level). She also teaches in Community Nursing I, II (Theory and laboratory), and Family Nursing. Moreover, she is a member of the Steering committee of the MSc course «Community and Public health Nursing, organized by the Nursing Department of the University of West Attica (UniWA). Other information: She has 88 publications in scientific journals and has disseminated widely through national and international conferences (82 oral and poster presentations). Her research work has been recognized by the international scientific community (1040 citations). She has taken part in European intensive programs; international weeks and teaching programs within Erasmus teaching staff mobility programs. She has participated as a researcher in the Erasmus+ program “InterHealth Intercultural Competences” and she has been a member of the advisory board of the Erasmus+ program “HCEU-HealthCareEurope». She does voluntary work in the development of the Greek e-library in Gerontology and Geriatrics called “e-library Gerolib” and participated in the European “Act on dementia” program towards eliminating stigma in dementia and creating dementia friendly communities. Member since 2022 of the program COST PROmoting GeRiAtric Medicine IN countries where it is still eMerGing. She is also a member of the European program “Cancer and other NCDs prevention –action on health determinants” (JAPreventNCD).She is currently teaching (2nd year) in the Blended Interdisciplinary Program (BIP) Healthy citizens in sustainable inclusive cities organized by the Vives University of Applied Sciences, Belgium and the University of Murcia, Spain. She is a member of the Greek Gerontological and Geriatric Society and the European Geriatric Medicine Society (EuGMS), member of the International Advisory Board of the scientific journal Nurse Education Today and Reviewer in the scientific journals Nurse Education in Practice and Nurse Education Today. She is also a member of the Community Nursing Division of the Hellenic Nurses Association.

She has been appointed as a President in the Educational Council and the central examination board of the Nursing specialty of Gerontological Nursing.
