Postgraduate Program of Studies in “Community and Public Health Nursing“
The Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health and Care Sciences, of the University of West Attica (UNIWA) launches in the academic year 2018-19 a postgraduate course entitled «Community and Public Health Nursing» (MSc in Community and Public Health Nursing).
Objectives of the course
The objective of the MSc course is the provision of a specialized body of knowledge and experience as well as the development and advancement of scientific knowledge and research in the area of Advanced Community and Public Health Nursing offering students high level studies and expertize in research, design and implementation of health care programs in order to preserve, protect and promote health of persons/groups/populations, regardless of age and health status, in the out of hospital community environment, on primary care level towards the promotion of Public Health.
Aim of the course
The MSc course aims at providing the graduates with all the necessary skills so as to be able to work as specialized scientists in schools, working environments, community, health care settings, open health care centers for the elderly, public health services, agencies, public and private sector, organizations and structures as well as a freelancer on primary care level and in out of hospital environments targeting at health promotion of the population across lifespan and in diverse cultural environments.

Postgraduate titles
The postgraduate course leads to the award of a Master of Science degree (MSc in Community and Public Health Nursing). The title is awarded by the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health and Caring Sciences, University of West Attica (UNIWA), provides a total of 90 ECTS after three semesters of coursework and offers the opportunity for further postgraduate studies on a PhD level.
