LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course aims at enhancing students’ understanding regarding the philosophy and theoretical background of Health Promotion and Education and to use their knowledge and skills for assessing the factors that affect health; to design and implement Prevention and Promotion programs for individuals and specific population groups; to implement Health Education in the community.
After the end of the course students will be able to:
- Define the concept and the basic principles of Prevention and Health Promotion in Nursing science.
- Describe the role of the nurse in Health Promotion.
- Identify the goals and levels of health education.
- Describe theoretical models and nursing approaches to Health Promotion and Education.
- Critically analyze current views on health and disease.
- Apply the methodology and techniques of Health Promotion and Education in Nursing.
- Design, implement and evaluate collaborative Health Promotion and Education Programs for the sick, healthy individuals and population groups.
