Education: He graduated from the Department of Nursing B’ of the TEI of Athens (1994) and then completed a postgraduate program in the United Kingdom – Master of Science in Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Wales (1996). He holds a PhD from the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly (2016).
Research interests: Cardiological Nursing, Quality of Life of Patients with Cardiorespiratory Diseases, Remote Patient Monitoring Technology, New Technologies and Learning Methods for Nursing Students, Rehabilitation of Patients with Cardiorespiratory Diseases, Quantitative Data Analysis, Telemedicine.
Academic appointments: He worked as a Lecturer at the TEI of Sterea Ellada (formerly Lamia) (2007-2018). In 2018 he became an Assistant Professor in Medical Nursing and in 2019 he joined the General Department of Lamia of the University of Thessaly. In 2025 he moved from the University of Thessaly to the University of West Attica.
Professional experience: He has worked in the United Kingdom as a registered nurse in hospital, community and long-term care settings (1994-1996) and as a nurse in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) at the Respiratory Insufficiency Center (RIC) of the “Sotiria” General Hospital for Chest Diseases of Athens (1998-2007).
Courses Taught: At undergraduate level, he has taught Theory and Laboratory of Medical Nursing, Cardiological Nursing, Basic Principles of Nursing, Epidemiology, Teaching Methods-Nursing Seminars, Community Nursing, Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction in Nursing Science, Pathology, Community Nursing and at postgraduate level, he has taught Epidemiology in the Postgraduate Course “Community Nursing and Public Health Nursing” organized by the Department of Nursing of the University of West Attica (UniWA).
Other information: He has 69 publications in Greek and international scientific journals, 74 presentations in Greek and international conference proceedings, oral and poster presentations. His work has been recognized by the international academic community (>670 citations).
– He was a member of the research team of the program titled “Renewing Health” with code FR21076 on behalf of the Cardiology Clinic of the University Hospital of Larissa, with the Scientific Director being Professor of Cardiology Philippos Tryposkiadis, with the objective of “Remotely monitoring of patients with Chronic Heart Failure” (2011-2012), while he also participated in the research project titled “Non-invasive method for measuring Hemodynamic Parameters and the Level of Non-Enzymatic Glycosylation End Products in students who smoke and those who consume caffeine” within the framework of the Project titled: “ARCHIMEDES III-Strengthening Research Groups at the Technological Educational Institute of Lamia” (Code: MIS 380360).
– He has served as Statistics Advisor on the Editorial Board of the journal Nurse Education in Practice (Elsevier) since April 2020, and as a Reviewer for the journal Nurse Education in Practice (Elsevier) since 2011.
