STUDENT PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

Language of evaluation: Greek

 Theory: Written Final Exam (50%) which includes:

• • multiple choice questionnaires
  • short-answer questions
  • open- ended questions
  • problem solving

Laboratory: Written Work & public presentation, (50%)

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES

After the end of the course students should be able to:

• Plan the management of patients who will undergo medium, large and very large surgeries such as Heart, Thoracic and Vascular, Urinary Tract System, Musculoskeletal System, Neurosurgery and Organ Transplantation.
• Apply the nursing process in the context of preoperative and postoperative care
• Recognize the risks of surgery and the nursing role in prevention and treatment
• Provide care to the operated patient
• Early recognition and management of postoperative complications
• Educate the patient and his family by planning and implementing a tailored patient education program
• Recognize the patient’s criteria for discharge from the hospital

• The general competence is the responsibility for the planning, management and evaluation of the care of surgical patients, including the supervision of other health care workers, working autonomously or in teams with medical doctors and others in the practical application of preventive and curative measures.

Tasks performed usually include: assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care for patients according to the practice and standards of modern nursing.
