Education: She graduated from the Nursing Department A’ of Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens (1997). She completed a Μaster of Science in Advanced Nursing in University of Ulster, Belfast, N. Ireland with Scholarship from the Greek State Scholarship Foundation (2001). She completed the Annual Postgraduate Teacher Training Program in School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE) (2007). She received her PhD degree from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2018).
Research interests: Nephrology Nursing, Hemodialysis, family caregivers.
Academic appointments: She was a Laboratory Assistant in Nursing Department A’ of TEI of Athens (2003 – 2008) and a Lecturer in the Nursing Department A’ of TEI of Athens (2008 – 2018). In 2018 that the institution developed into University of West Attica, she became a Lecturer in Nursing of the University of West Attica and since 2020 she is an Assistant Professor.
Professional experience: She has worked as a registered nurse in Neurological Clinic, E. D. & G. Liapopoulos OE (1996-1998), in Dialysis Unit of Hospital ‘Hygeia’ (1998-2000), in Dialysis Unit of General Hospital of Piraeus ‘Tzaneio’ (2001-2007) and in Health Center of Spata (2007-2008).
Courses Taught
Undergraduate Courses: At undergraduate level, she currently teaches “Nephrology Nursing (academic coordination)”, “Community Nursing Ι”, “Gerontological Nursing”, “Pathophysiology”, “Epidemiology”. She has also taught “Community Nursing ΙΙ”, “Nursing rehabilitation”, “Basic Nursing”, “Introduction to Nursing Science”.
Postgraduate Courses: At postgraduate level, she has taught modules in postgraduate courses of the following: MSc “Community and Public Health Nursing”, MSc “Applied Clinical Nursing”, MSc “Intensive Care Units”, MSc “Neurological Disorders-Evidence based Nursing”, MSc “Management of Chronic Diseases”.
Other information: She has 52 oral and poster presentations in national and international conferences. Her research work has been recognized by the international scientific community (885 citations).
